My daughter is 10 and her toys and clothes are moving her out of her room. She has many things that have gone unopened and some clothes that have been worn once (maybe twice) and she is on to the next thing. My nieces have all received clothes and toys in excess and now I am trying to find a way to give some of these things to those in need. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

You can donate them to the Salvation Army Christmas Program. They give gently used and new clothing and toys to parents for their children. You can also call the YWCA, Shelters in your town, or if you have a place called Community Action Council in your town you can call them. They deal with all sorts of programs for people in need.

there are alot of Battered Women's Shelters in your area. Pull out the phone book, and call them up and see where you donate at. I hope that you choose to donate at a shelter, because alot of women get there with nothing but the clothes on there back, and on their Children's back. Good luck, hopefully you can find one.

www.craigslist.com is a great place. You can either sell at a low price or you can give them away. How about selling them and putting the money into an account for your daughter for college. Some banks have special rates for CD accounts for kids. My son is 2 and already has over $300 in his.

I'm not sure what version of this you have over there, but in Toronto, there're places like St. Vincent that takes in donated clothes and gives them to people who comes in to a church to be fed. I'm sure there's something like that in your area.
