sorry for being so technical on that but you can find the answer in a book wrote by Boris Cyrulnik, who is a scientist specialized in animal behavior (!) and who did an experience consisting in a group of several guys having to choose one girl between ,like, a hundred different looking girls.Then the attention of most of the males were kept by 4 or 5 girls in a hundred.So he tried to study why those girls were chosen by the guys instead of the other and he discovered a very simple thing: the shapes of their bodies, and even of their faces, which corresponded to what we usually call "pretty" or "handsome" ,were not only a matter of "beauty" but, after a regular biological study*, they were discovered to be also the bodies of women who had the most perfect ability to PROCREATE.Criterias of seduction potential were exactly the same as the ability to breed.
Believe it or not.
So we can conclude that what we see through what we call the beauty of a body, of a face, what we call "attraction",is indeed the desire to reproduce our kind.If i look at you and find you attractive , there is inside me the secret desire of using your body to perpetuate the human kind, so i'll have to choose the most reliable body for my duty.
otherwise i'm gay, or disgusted by the human kind.

Well, what Cirulnik forget is those bodies can talk and express themselves, being fun or sweet and that makes a lot of difference:
i mean what if the most perfect procreative girl i found doesn't laugh of the same thing than i (the priest farting by accident during a funeral for example?)

Different men find different things attractive. I have heard from many many men that
self-confidence is one of the most attractive things in a woman and even a gorgeous woman is a little less attractive if she is not self-confident.

For me, and I'm sure a few other hopless romantics, the eyes of a girl or woman are the doorway to their soul. I learn alot about a girl from looking into her eyes. That is of course, if she can keep from looking away........ Eye contact!!
