gambling is a sin, yet they go to bingo, play lottery, go to the casinos, and play online games.? the dictionary defines gambling as a game of chance...so....is it wrong for the "hypochristians" to say that gambling is a sin, but it's ok if they do it, because it is for "entertainment"?

im not picking "just one faith". but from what i have read and understand, any religion that isnt jewish, is "christian". you people need to read the question and stop paraphrasing what you want to read.

wow! 2 people actually got what i was asking....and i did not say ALL christians did i? NO!!!
but it scorches my shorts when i see people raing their hands praising, and praying, and telling others that "this is a sin": and "that" is a sin, ie: "gambling", and in the same breath, they are asking their friend to go play bingo or go to the casino.....

to my knowledge, no where in the bible does it say that it is a sin, did i say that it does? nope i didnt...i am by no means an atheist to the one that suggested it. i am just trying to get a grasp on how these "self proclaimed" self appointed chosen ones can say one thing and do the total opposite.

Some 'Christians' also say that you shouldn't drink, whereas I know Christians that do.
Each branch of Christianity has it's own rules. Some are just more strict than others.
What do you mean by "hypochristians", by the way? I've never heard that term used before!

Um let me tell u one thing. Like i hae been saying for the past two weeks, it's not all Christians are hte same. Some may be fakers and stuff. The true ones are the ones that really love God and know. name all the Christians that u have seen or heard went to bingo or something. Why can't u just say that some Christians. Do i go to bingo or play online games or go to casino? No! So what does that mean? I don't think that u should just assume that bcuz one or two or three fake Christians say don't so this and they do it, means that all Chritians do that. When i tell somone not to do something, i really mean it and somoen would never catch me doing the things i said not to do. I am not a hypocrite so tell ur friends or other ppl next time if u have something to say about Christians that its not all of htem. I never sya anything about All athiests even though i don't believe in it, becuase i know not all of htem would be like what i would think htey are. So please next time just say some or most.

Gambling is a sin. period. It's wrong for anyone to do it. Is bingo gambling if there's no money involved? Is monopoly gambling if the money if fake? No. But gambling is wrong and it's a sin. If people took all the money they spend gambling, we could pay off the national debt, eradicate poverty, welfare, homelessness, fund cures for diseases, and so much more. Each casino averages about 8 billion a year in revenue. That's a lot of money. Stop gambling people.

gambling is a sin.. i am a Christian and I don't do any of that (bingo, play lotto, go to casinos etc...) Christians that do that sort of stuff, you shouldn't worry about them, your not the one that should make comments about it. Only one person can say something about it and judge them... God bless the Christians that are committing sins

It is a sin and as a Christian am opposed to it, it is a destructive lifestyle. It promotes other destructive lifestyles. The law of diminishing returns makes it so. I do not sanction it, nor do I think it should ever be, for what ever reason, for whatever purpose, for whatever etertainment.
Yes, unfortunately there are Christians who gamble and sin when they do it, yet they believe in their hearts that it is not, though they struggle in their lifestyles and have watered down the gospel of Jesus Christ and made it a weak lifestyle. God will judge them, and then their habits, will be seen as fire and God, snatching them from the sin, if that occurs, or they fall headlong into besetting sins and destroy their faith and sear their conscious against repenting of such sins. God is the Judge of all the earth and He will administer perfect Justice, His eyes are not swayed, and He knows all things and He is impartial and just.
Yet, who appointed you to be judge? What sins are you hiding? What things are you permitting that destroy the lives of others? What vices do you keep under wraps, or outwardly show?
God will not be mocked. "A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to plese the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

Gambling is sinful if you do it to excess. Buying a ticket for the high school band's raffle for a country ham isn't sinful, but pulling the arm for 19 straight hours and blowing your kid's college fund is. At that point, it's a sin because you've neglected responsibility for pleasure. Pleasure isn't sin, but obtaining pleasure through irresponsible behavior is.

Some fanatical Christian sects may believe gambling is a sin, but, if there's a God, I doubt that he or she cares one way or the other.
Gambling to excess and ruining your family, on the other hand, would be classified as a "sin." It would come under the category of "do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

My pastor summed it up recently. What kind of legacy will you leave as a Christian? One of truthfulness and obedience to God's word or one of pretense? You cannot continue to sin and then expect God's forgiveness every step of the way. Its' a choice and it all comes down to freewill.
In my experience, the boastful, self-righteous ones that preach about sin every five seconds and then turn around and do the opposite are not following the word of God.
