what are the pros and cons.... do you have enough family time when your an NCO or is it long hours?? what experience did you have with the old guard

I retired as a master sergeant. Had time to raise two girls who did very well in life. I could tell many stories of the "old Guard" but I doubt you could relate. It was a good life. It was fulfilling and it was rewarding. Our family lived on three different continents and learned 4 languages.

Well, I'm sure this isn't the answer you're looking for, but my only experience with the "Old Guard" was watching them during DNC. They looked sharp! One of my old NCO's commented on how well disciplined they were, that we should all strive to be like them. It was an honor watching them, and I respect the discipline they have.
