How many children did you decide to have or do you have? How did growing up an only child influence your decision? Because you know what its like without siblings, do you want your child (ren) to go through the same thing you did?

I was an only child.
I now have three children of my own. (7.5 years, 5.5 years and 3.5 years) I wanted my children to have siblings and be well-bonded with them for life. I didn't want them to be lonely and spoiled and over-protected the way I was as a child.

I am an only child and always wanted a brother or sister when I was a kid. I have a 2 year old daughter and am due any day with a son. My husband and I only wanted to have 2 children close in age so they could grow up together and hopefully play together and be friends. My husband and his sister were only 14 months apart and guess they were close when they were kids and that was important to my husband for our kids to be the same. Even though I did not want to be an only child, I am starting to get nervous about this second baby as I guess I am afraid of not knowing how to divide my time between them. since my mom and dad only had me I did not have to fight for attention. Im sure the fears will go away once he is here and get used to being a mother of 2.

I´m an only child and I do plan to have more than one child. It´s not that I didn`t like to be an only child, but I found that sometimes an only child misses having someone else around rather than her/his parents.
I have a very good and old friend (we´ve known ourselves all my life) who is like a sister to me. She even lived in my house for a year and I truly enjoyed her company.
Being an only child isn`t bad but having a brother/sister is also quite good.

I AM AN ONLY CHILD, AND AT FIRST I SAID TO MYSELF MY DAUGHTER IS GOING TO BE AN ONLY CHILD TOO, BUT SHES NOW 8 YEARS OLD AND IVE REALIZED SHE DOESNT HAVE SUCH A BIG FAMILY ITS JUST ME AND MY MOTHER (IAM A SINGLE PARENT) SHE HAS NO COUSINS, NIECES, NEPHEWS, AND ITS SAD, BECAUSE SHE WILL HAVE NO ONE. SO NOW IAM 4 MONTHS PREGNANT AND REALLY HAPPY THAT I DECIDED TO HAVE ANOTHER ONE. AT LEAST MY DAUGHTER WILL HAVE SOMEONE, BESIDES ME AND MY MOM.
