Absolutely nothing(as the song goes) I would not consider myself to be politically informed so I suppose I cant really make an educated comment on the topic. The wars in the middle east just seem so pointless to me. People will die as a result and not much will be achieved. What are your opinions?

Yes that's almost 1 billion people, over the last 60 years, given freedom or feedom was preserved and are still living free thanks to the so called Imperialist Empire of the United States of America. (give or take 35 million)

There was only one President that didn`t involve us in war, President Carter, and he freed no one. However the Islamic fundimentalist revolution we are fighting today started on his watch. Even President Ford freed 39 multi nationals from the Khmers in his short term with violence.

* Thailand was the US supported Domino that stopped Communist expansion in SE Asia.

War is good for killing people and breaking things. The point to Afghanistan is to keep the clowns that supported the attacks(Taliban) from regaining power. You can't have a problem with that can you? And the iraq thing is basically a distraction to draw extremists out to fight in the streets of baghdad rather than the streets of say California, or New York.

You're right, war is good for nothing, except keeping you free so you can ask questions like this. This is not a matter of being politically informed, it is a matter of common sense. They, the terrorists, want to kill you. They do not care how nice you are, how smart you are, nor how politically astute you are. You are not their kind of muslim, your facial hair is not long enough, you do not sacrifice enough of your sons to the cause and you know what? They don't want to talk to you about it or hear your opinion.

freedom - if you have nothing to fight over then really you don't have a life.

If America didn't fight in WWII then we would be under Nazi rule - if America doesn't fight these crazy Muslims - you will be subject to Islamic law (if you're not a Muslim thy can kill you for being an infidel) saying that war is good for nothing shows how little you know of the real world

Alot will be achieved if we finish the job. Serious criminals have been caught, and more will be caught. Im glad we're over there. Someones got to get these people back on the right foot, and it just happens to be us thats gonna help them.

War is good when it comes to stopping terrorists.

Have you forgotten?

Mainting your own freedoms and liberties, freeing others from tyranny and oppresion, defending the rights of your citizens. So whats it good for? More than you would think, read up on your history and you'll see.

In this instance, is just for survival!! This enemy is the first one to have the sole purpose of killing off western civilized people, not just defeating them. And are commanded to do it by the sword.

The war in Iraq is pointless! My husband agrees with me as well...(he also works in the military). There are a lot of soldiers that don't agree with this war as well so your not the only one that thinks that way. I just pray to God that they pull the troops out ASAP. Enough people have died in this pointless war! We don't need more dead people...

Plenty will be achieved, the billionaire weapons manufacturers will become multi billionaire weapons manufacturers and think of all the political donations they will make in order to keep their output at a maximum. Synical?, maybe.
