Depends how well you know her. She could be interested, or she could just be a very good friend. Maybe it's something you spoke about a while ago and she's just asking how things are going. If not, try saying you have someone in mind but you haven't told her you're interested. If she tries to find out who and gets giggly, then you're in. If she asks more about why you haven't said anything, then she's probably just being a concerned friend.

Sometimes yes, but not always. Depends on how good of friends you are, it could be just normal conversation. What else did she say along with "have you sorted out a girlfriend yet"?
