A friend mixed head & shoulders shampoo with thermasilk shampoo and it formed some kind of glue and now the hair is stuck together. We can't figure out what to do, any suggestions other than shaving the hair off?

I've mixed shampoos before and never had that type of reaction, are you sure she only put shampoo in the bottle? The ingredients are almost identical in both products, except that Head and Shoulders has an anti-dandruff ingredient, which would not cause a glue like reaction since the products are almost identical to start with.

A good shampoo for your dog would be PearLyt or HyLyt; you can get these at most veterinary clinics and they are not too expensive either. Head and Shoulders would probably not be a good idea because of the active ingredient zinc pyrithione is good for seborrheic dermatitis or other skin infections, so I do not think it would be appropriate to use as a regular maintenance shampoo, especially w/o first consulting w/ a vet.

use baking soda mixed with any shampoo that you have and leave it on for 5 minutes try to take a comb through it after the five minutes and than use a really Good conditioner when your done.It might take a couple times but it should do the job.
