It doesn't matter how many pieces of paper, or confetti, that you put in an envelope. What matters is the total weight. If you use high class bond paper, sometimes one sheet is all you can send, if the envelope is the same high class bond. But if it's cheap paper, sometimes you can get three sheets in. Take a couple of sample envelopes with 1, 2 or 3 sheets of paper in to the post office and ask how much it would cost to mail each of them.

Using an ordinary business size envelope and 20# printer paper, you can send four sheets for the one-ounce rate of 39c. If you try to send ten pages the way some answerers have suggested, you must put at least 63c in postage on the envelope. If the postage is insufficient, it will either be returned to you or delivered "postage due." If it is returned to you for additional postage, that can take WEEKS, so don't risk it to save a few cents in postage. When in doubt, have it weighed at the post office.

1 ounce worth

How much does a sheet of paper weigh?
About 0.158732829 ounces. So if you're mailing a letter that can be at most 1 oz, you should be able to include about 6 sheets of paper plus the envelope. Of course, the real answer depends on many variables.

Well from my experience I have got at least 10 in the envelope and it has been delivered. Don't over do it but you can send more than just a few. It does not depend on the thickness of your paper rather the weight of the letter that the post office looks at.

Depends on the thickness and quality of paper
if it's just regular lined paper I would assume about

Not about peices of paper, about weight. .39 will pay for the transport of 1 ounce.
