You should wait anywhere from 1-2 days to a week before getting a relaxer after taking your braids down. Also, right before you take them down, be sure to moisturize your scalp with a moisturizing cream. If you don't have any, you can use regular body lotion. It keeps it from being so itchy and I find that it helps the relaxer take better.

And the most important thing to remember before getting a relaxer: Don't scratch!

ur hair is already damaged from braids, so i'd suggest avoiding perm for a while, a couple of months at least

Do not get a perm in your hair you can try other styles without getting a perm.

Don't get a perm they are very damaging and the only way to get rid of damaged hair is to grow it out and cut it off.

you may wait 2-4 weeks. ideally the latter. relaxing your hair makes it weaker and greater in all probability to break. including hair for braiding places greater weight on already weaker hair. Wait till you have some greater desirable new enhance so the braiding hair could have a greater powerful commencing place. while you're waiting, determine you're deep conditioning. desire it is sensible!

my hair dresser told me a week...because your scalp needs time to heal...since its sore from the braids....she also said if u perm it now...it will perm but you will have lots of scabs on your scalp as a result of a sore scalp.
