I'm this also, a Buddhist-Christian
l look to Jesus and The heavenly God for peace to the evils of the world, the right things that I should do, and to help others
and look to Buddhas teachings for self peace, to help myself
u can also use the Bible for that, use both if u like
I use both for examples of the life I should live, use their ways to make your own
Buddha never taught life after death, a god or gods, etc... so there is a way you can use both. other chistians think that that is brliving in another god, but Buddha never said he was a god, and it's not like you have to pray to his idols or w/e
god bless you on your spritiual path

You can most certainly study Buddhism and still be christian. There is a point, though, where the two are mutually exclusive. Buddhism teaches that all beings are equal, and there is not existence of a diety. Whereas Christianity speaks of leaning on God or having God guide our path, Buddhism teaches a person to make their own path and that we create our own destiny.
Fundamentally, all religions were created for the same reason; we just have different ways to go about it. some people find that Buddhist teachings bring them closer to God. Some feel that Buddhism is a better fit for them.
Whatever the way, I hope you approach spirituality with an open mind. There is much to be learned in teh world. :)

You can study it, and that is ok, but as long as it is study, like you study chemistry, or literature, etc. The teachings of Buddhism and Christianity can be similar at times, but they also disagree enough that they are mutually exclusive beliefs. So to buy into Buddhism and Christianity, you are in a spot of disagreeance with yourself, and you would be neither Christian nor Buddhist.

A Christian studying Buddhism?
I studied buddhism in college for one semester. I'm not sure westerners can really comprehend buddhism.
Which sect of buddhism? There are many.
Do you know how a person becomes a Christian? Does freedom in Christ mean anything to you?

You can still be considered a Christian if you follow all of the Church's teachings. One of these teachings is not to worship other gods. Buddhism can be studied only insofar as you are attempting to understand it better in order to better defend Christianity to non-Christians, like those in Buddhism.
Otherwise, if you are studying it to enhance your spirituality, then you are deviating from the Christian faith, which alone has the true meaning of spirituality and salvation.

I think you can use the Buddhist mantras and meditation techniques but you can not be fully Buddhist. Buddhist believe you don't need a supreme being to reach enlightenment. That is the opposite idea of Christianity. Use the meditation only and you can still be Christian.

Sure, you don't think the study of ALL religions is part of Theology in school!
The average Catholic Preist probably knows more about Islam than all of these loud mouths rioting!

Why not all you are doing is diversifying your knowledge.
Nothing wrong at all with knowing other religions. In my studies I have found similarities in all of them, just put in different ways.
Fallow your heart and study that which catches your attention.
