I didn't see any recruits standing in line begging to go to Iraq and fight as I passed the Army/Marine recruiting station. Why?

Those in power are too old, but the majority of those in the service do vote Republican. Rumsfield was at the Pentagon when it was hit on 9-11 and supposedly did do rescue work there.

Even though Bush was in the National Guard, his unit could have been sent to Vietnam like the thousands of other national guard troops.

Rush Limbaugh didn't serve because of a medical problem.

You must go when the recruiting stations are closed then!
I see both men and women trying to enlist in the military at the two recruiting stations in my area.

Maybe because they were already inside, and not standing in line outside.

Or perhaps you live in an area where recruitment is not as strong as in others?

Or perhaps you are just blinded by your hatred.

We proudly have an "all volunteer" military that takes any who choose to enlist or seek an appointment and qualify. It is an apolitical system which is the best in the world by far.

They are inside volunteering. They don`t want to get spit on by people like you.
The US military has exceeded its quota every year. They are the highest educated per capita in the nation. 99% are highschool graduates and there are more Masters Degrees per capita than any other organization or group in the country.

We have all the troops we need and now that the search for Bin Laden is over we'll be reducing the size of this damn bloated Clinton era military.

What? Were you on your way to the welfare line when you made your astute observation?

Reasonable people do not beg to go to war. But responsible ones do what the cowards won't do.

You are a coward......and an idiot.

For the same reason people who support law enforcement aren't all lining up to be cops and people who don't want their house to burn down aren't all lining up to be firemen. Now, if you want to make another asinine political comment, why don't you try coming up with one that hasn't been beat to death for years.
