In your experience with Zoloft did you gain or lose weight?

I have been taking it for a little over a week and lost about 6 pounds, just trying to get real-time, real-life answers.

I had a lot of gas and gained 10lbs. For each person it will be different. Some gain 5-10 and others will lose 5-10. It just depends on how active you are and how your body adapts.

I'm on 50mg every day and I've been taking it since June. I did lose weight in the first 2 weeks (about 9 lbs) because Zoloft made me dizzy and nauseous all the time. I just didn't have any appetite and so I didn't eat very much. But that was probably the breaking-in period for my body to get used to the medication. The normal eating habits started up again after that. I gained all the weight I lost and MORE, even though I eat healthy, exercise and am not eating more than usual. I know it's different for everybody but for me, Zoloft has definitely caused me to gain weight.

It's hard to say really.. The same thing happened to me when I first started taking zoloft, but I was also at a very rough stage in terms of my depression and OCD.. so it's hard to know whether the weight loss was just because of the depression, or because of the meds, or a bit of both (I'd suspect a bit of both).

Anyway to cut a long story short, I lost weight for a few months, but then it went back to normal again.. and now 7 years on it has no effect on my weight that I'm aware of..

During the first month or so, I lost weight, mostly because it left me feeling ill, and I didn't eat properly. But after that I gained double the amount back. I was able to get the weight off. I think it depends on each person though.

hi first u will lose pounds because its new for u and u are feeling blue but once u get better you will gain it all back take care of yourself.
