They go after security and money is one of the symbols of that. Like how men go for sex and attractiveness is one of the symbols of that.

While not poor, my husband certainly wasn't loaded! Not all women go after money, but maybe a reason might be for security, or to achieve a certain status.
In a lot of cases, it is 50-50, and in some it's 60-40! Tell your friend not to judge all women by what he sees on TV or reads in magazines, there are plenty of women who are looking for real love, and not necessarily love of money.

Because although society says 50/50, it doesn't work that way. Women go after the money because they are condioned to do it. They make less for equivalent jobs, and when it comes to divorce court, often the man gets it in the rear

Women go after money, because they are broke and want your money. Then again, some women are just lovers of money and greedy.
Me and my dude are 50/50. He pays for dinner, I pay for the movie. That's how it should be. New relationships are diffrent though. When me and my dude first met, he paid for everything the first 2 years.
