While observing the squirrel activities this summer, and noticing how abundant they are, I noted that there are also quite an abundance of oversized acorns being shed from the oak trees in the area I live. I've finally come to the conclusion that the coldness and longevity of these two activities - acorn production and size of squirrels is how the winter's severity is predicted.

I can't tell the difference between a male and female squirrel. Thankfully, the squirrels can tell the difference.

Same way you would determine the gender of a cat. If they got balls it's male. No balls, female.
