Think about why you got out in first place, and then I strongly suggest that you ask God. Since you are in the ministry!

For this profession as for many others one of the first steps in joining and/or rejoining is getting the "state of the art". If you spend some weeks a) Reading the specialized magazines and newspapers about the subject, b) Talking to the people that are in the profession at this time, and c) Talking to the people that view the productions, getting to know what things have changed and what things remain the same, probably you'll be "in shape" shortly.

Are you attending church now? That would be the first question to ask. If not, why not? I think you would have to do a lot of self-examination first to determine your real motives for wanting to do this again, and to examine why you left to begin with. Most churches want their members to be involved in ministries in the church. If you are currently in a church, go to one of the staff and ask how you can get involved inthe music ministry. Then let things progress from there. If God truly wants you in the music ministry, HE will provide the way. Just trust and do your part.
