Yes but there is a proverb You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink." You can make education readily available...

Agnostics, atheist, secular, non-religious folks are the 3 highest rank beliefs in the world...right below Christianity and Islam.

I don't know if that has anything to do with education being more available, because I don't know what the standings were 100 years ago. But I do think people are starting to understand the whole picture of what organized religion is and what it's used for.

The number of atheists and agnostics is growing, however it doesn't seem that the numbers of religious folk are decreasing much at all. The problem is that education is only effective if people are willing to learn from it... Religion keeps their flock under control by discouraging education. Educating yourself is tantamount to questioning or even attacking your faith which if lost forfeits your seat in heaven. That's scary enough to keep most people within that mind frame ignorant.

we have become more educated as a species. As we have grasped this new knowledge, we also have a history. America and the world is becoming more religeous look at the middle east. Americans bow down to us Jews, look at all we've done for you!!

And never before have there been more atheists. They are a group of people arguing and spending a lot of time on something they think does'nt exist.? Funny Huh?

I love this comment. "That's why they keep pushing "Intelligent Design" so much, and other pseudo-science." Pseudo science.... All non religious theorys about the creation of the univerise are ALSO pseduo science becuase they are educated guesses at the least! But... anyways back on question. I would say no, mainly because there is not enough information on this subject at this time. No real proof showing one way or the other

Education is the result of the spread of Christianity. Religion is a cultural expression of man's need to worship his creator. Religion will never be suppressed except by atheistic dictators. It only moves underground and swells until the fetters of oppression are shrugged off.

Lack of religious ideas and education are not proportional, to the contrary: The greatest thinkers are believers.

probably and i think a lot of it has to do with religious leaders sending out the message that you have to make a choice - religion or science, as if it was some epic battle of good vs evil. people are almost always going to choose science, which is tangible and calculable. religious leaders need to be showing that religion and science can exist together, and that you can have religion and still be scientific, if they dont want religion to disappear completely.

The Religious Right is trying to change that. They've realized that they have to indoctrinate kids at a young age and keep them in the dark about science. That's why they keep pushing "Intelligent Design" so much, and other pseudo-science.

I would say if anything there is a resurgence in religion. I think religion is trying to appeal more to younger people i.e. contemporary Christian music. Faith is not something that goes in and out of fashion.
