How long should you wait before you call someone who's number that you just got?

Normally when I recieve a number I wait at least week before I call them. Is a week to long of a wait? Also sometimes she ends up calling me that day if we both give each other our numbers. Does that mean that she is desperate?

What does it really mean if she contacts you first?

If you like the person call them the next day, a lot of times if they gave you their number they are interested. It does not mean that you are desperate. It just shows that you are into that person and wanna get to know them better. If you wait a week you're a player(nothin' wrong with that).

A week is way too long. If a guy took that long to call me I probably wouldn't go out with him. I'm used to being called the very next day and I dont see that as being desperate at all. If you like someone you should want to speak to them as soon as possible. If she called you first its because you took too damn long to call.

If you wait a week, it means you put her on the back burner, and you are only calling her because you have nothing better to do.

I would call her the next night, it shows interest, and you would put other matters aside to call her.

putting it off, will only put her off.

A week is too long, makes it seem like you are barely thinking about her. But the next day is too soon, seems like you are over eager and have nothing else in your life.

2-3 days after is good, shows you have a life but also that you are interested in her.

Don't play games. There is no "standard" wait period. If you like her call her. Enough. If she calls you, no she's not desparate, she likes you. That's all.
