I would... but the real question here is would you lay down your life for your bitter enemies... who want to kill you?

You might not be quick to jump at laying down your life in a single event. But, would you do it piecewise? Would walk away from your favorite TV program (X-Files?) to do the dishes and start a load of laundry while your wife is taking her bath? After a bad day at work, would you stop on your walk from the car to the couch to see the "tricks" your 6 year old learned to do today on his scooter? On game night, would you help your coworker, the one who seems to be avoided by most, move to his new apartment? Would you wake up 15 or 20 minutes early to spend some time in prayer with God? In the "never to be seen again" work that we all do every day as part of our job, will you give it 100% of your effort and offer that to God, knowing that 50% of the effort would suffice and wouldn't matter to anyone else?
This is how each of us is called to "lay down our life" for our friend. In doing this for our friends, we give up our life for Christ. Make sense?

I would most certainly stand up for a friend, fight for a friend and even take a bullet for a friend, but would I lay down my life for a friend? I'm not entirely sure. I believe it would depend on the circumstances presented.
But, would I lay my life down for my husband and children? Without question.

I would risk my life for certain friends. There are a myriad of factors that I would have to take into account.

if somebody gets to a state that he could love everybody no matter what he would probably do that. it needs a big heart that alot of people don't have.

Hell no. For one of my kids, yes. But for a 'friend', never. After all, he / she might be a closet Christian. Aaaarrrrrghhh!!!
