The SPCA usually has a vet on staff that will either do it for free, or at a hefty discount. My vet charges about $250-$300, whereas the SPCA is $90-$110. Either way, good decision on your part.

It really depends on where you are. Call around to several places. Spay and neuter surgery is a common surgery that any vet could do. Most of the work is done by vet techs anyway they do the prepping for the surgery Doc just cuts snips and its possible a vet tech may sew them back up. Don't feel the dog is being treated badly if you go to a cheap vet for this.

It depends on where you live. When I had my female labX spayed 6 yrs ago in Phoenix, Az it only cost me $35 at the spay clinic. Here's a list of low cost (and in some cases free) spay and neuter clinics in the U.S. http://www.lovethatcat.com/spayneuter.html

It depends where you live.

I had my female done 5 years ago and it cost £50.00 but it's probably gone up a lot since then.
