If two factions are continually at odds, killing each other daily, would the answer be for one faction to completely wipe out the opposing faction; thus creating peace?

That would be logical assuming that new factions were not formed within the remaining group. With that in mind it would be better in the long term to find a way of resolving conflict without resorting to violence.

Never! Please call the President's comment line, (202) 456-1111, and urge him to use diplomacy to pressure Sudan to accept the U.N. peacekeeping force in Darfur. The peacekeepers already there must leave by the end of September if the U.N. doesn't act NOW!

Please save the lives of thousands dying in Darfur!

Utopia is often thought the end result of killing all opponents and ushering in a new millenia or "new heaven" on earth

the Repubs call it "new world order" or the Project for a New American Century, part of the Heritage Foundation and same people who crown the annual Christian Statesman of the Year awards

How likely is it that a group that is willing to commit genocide would subsequently live in peace? It's not very likely.

Very rarely does one army just wipe out the other.. and it's been tried so many times before, it just doesn't work like that.

Genocide is never ok unless the group being genocided happens to be radical IslamoFascists.
