I just received my request for evidence for the I-129f. It is wanting to know if I have any criminal record, especially for murder, sexual assault/abuse, etc. If I am clear do I have to present a criminal background check or some other kind of verification, or just sign the form stating I do not have a record?
Thanks for anyone's help!

Typically the USCIS request for evidence is quite clear as to how much documentation they want. If they just ask you for a signed release form, then just provide that, for the sake of expediency. At the same time be prepared that at the interview they might ask for more evidence, like a report from the local police department saying you have no criminal record. If I was you, I would provide it from the get go. Years of experience dealing with INS/USCIS has taught me, they are (1) incompetent, (2) will mess up your case every chance they get, not necessarily out of bad intent but because they are overworked and underpaid... So I try to make things as easy as possible for them, spell everything out, and make it super clear.

Ditto on what True Soul said! I work immigration case work and its better to cover all your bases. Don't second guess the USICS. Sometimes the instructions they send you are vague and hard to understand.
Good luck!

As long as you're being honest about not having a record... just sign the form. If you're lying... they will find out, fine you, and imprison you.
