For almost 3 weeks now i have scabs that keep forming in my one nostral. If i get them out more keep forming. It is painfull and very discomforting. Dose anyone know what this could be and how to treat it. I didnt get hit in the nose, and i dont do drugs, so you can rule out those options.

quit picking it?? no, it could be foliculitis... an infection of the hair follicles. Maybe if you pulled out a hair,it got infected... my baby gets it alot, and some ppl say it is staph infection..... it isnt.... it may be the follicle itis, i mentioned. I spelled it seperate because i think i may have misspelled it to begin with!

I just started having a few days ago that problem for the first time in my life. Its like a little scab forming on the inner part of the nose that sticks out and I pick it off and it forms anouther the next day. I doesnt hurt though and doesnt feel like a sore. Its just like a hard mucus little scab? I thought it may be because the weather is getting cooler and its one way the body is tring to adjust. But I don't know for sure I know its not serious just weird.

HAVE YOU BEEN UNDER STRESS? DO YOU HAVE ALLERGIES? DO YOU GET COLD SORES? IF YOU ARE STRESSED MAYBE YOU ARE GETTING COLD SORES IN YOUR NOSE.(YES THAT SOUND ODD, BUT IT HAPPENS.) IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES NOW, YOUR MUCUS COULD BE IRRITATING YOUR NOSE, AND CAUSING SORES. BUT MOST IMPORTANT IS DO NOT PICK THE SORES THEY WILL JUST KEEP COMING BACK. PUT SOME VASELINE IN YOUR NOSTRIL ON THE SORES THIS SHOULD SOFTEN THE SCABS SO YOU CAN TOLERATE THEM UNTIL THEY HEAL. IF THEY DO NOT HEAL AFTER DOING THIS, YOU SHOULD GO TO THE DOCTOR TO HAVE THE PROBLEM CHECKED OUT, ITS A SMALL POSSIBILITY THAT IS IS SOMETHING A LITTLE MORE SERIOUS.THERE IS A PRODUCT CALLED ABREVA THAT WORK WELL FOR COLD SORES.

I would try using a humidifier wherever you sleep as it could be just dry skin. I would also try a little neosporin (use cotton swab) on the affected area but go lightly and use only if you can see where you're putting it. If you can, leave it alone for a while and see if it goes away on its own. You may want to consider going to your family physician.
