During his first encounter with the Jews, he said "I came only for the lost souls of Israel. "How did he die for the sins of the world or as you said everyone's sin? That was the biggest deception that was ever done but the most effective way that made religions great and rich.
Deut: 24:16 "Father shall not be put to death for their children's sin, nor the children shall be put to death for their father's- each is to die for his own sin."

Eze:18:3-4 " As surely as I live", declares the Sovereign Lord, "You will no longer quote this proverb in Israel, for every living soul belongs to me, the father as well as the son - both alike belong to me. the souls who sins is the one who will die."

Eze. 18:20 "The souls who sins is the one who will die. the son will not share the guilt of the father, nor the father will share the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous man will be credited to him. the wickedness of the wicked will be be charged against him."
So, Jesus should know about this from Ezekiel and Deuteronomy before he died and if ever he died for the sins of everyone, that must be something he learned about more than a hundred years only after his death.

I think there is a strong possibility that He just gradually realized it. Since he was 100% human and 100% God at the same time he probably grew up like any other child. In other words he probably didn't know he was God when he was 2.
However, if there was a distinctive moment I would say that it was at His baptism when the dove came down and God spoke.

Matthew 3:16-17 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."

I don't think he always knew. He was born a regular baby boy, brought up and raised like a regular boy. It's estimated he died around the age of 33. No one, not even Jesus could deal with the idea that if he sacrificed himself, he would die for everyone elses sins, all of his life! I'm sure God let him know when he knew he was ready and mature enough to handle the truth and trust God to be his guide.

Check with a priest or pastor, maybe they might know more!

He always knew. It is what He was sent here for. To die on the cross for all of our sins.

He remained unsure his entire life. Jesus knew many things that the father revealed to him, Jesus constantly prayed to seek God's will. In the Book of Matthew [1] it is reveled that Jesus does not know exactly when he will be called.

Jesus revealed to everyone standing around him the moment he figured it out when he cried out, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" [2] At this moment he realized that god forsook [3]him.

Now there is a thought provoking question.

My humble opinion: I don't believe he knew it when he was discoursing with the scribes in the temple after his bar mitzvah trip with his parents. (Luke 2:49) I think it more likely just before, or immediately after his baptism and temptation. (Matthew 3,4)
Before this time, I think he knew more about his purpose in life than any other human before or after.
The Holy Spirit's seal at his baptism delivered his "ministry credentials" so to speak.
