Yes, as the male partner contributes 50 per cent of the genetic make up of the new baby.
It is sad, but true, that some babies are being born addicted to heroin - that's down to the use of heroin by the mother during labour. But drugs can impact on the sperm which can have a negative impact on the development of the cells.

Yes but did you know this?
Alcohol dependence has reached critical proportions in Russia, where 40 percent of men and 17 percent of women are alcoholics. Alcoholism is a punishable offense in Russia. Alcoholics who refuse hospital treatment can be imprisoned in labor camps. After their release they typically find it difficult to find employment, and if caught drinking again, they are returned to prison. Periodic efforts by the government to control drinking by closing distilleries, breweries, and bars have backfired. Instead of solving the problem, such tactics only created a widespread black market for liquor—as well as a country of people who hide their drinking problems.

Possibly, if there's 2nd hand smoke involved. I'd be more worried about the long term psycological affects on the child after the birth living in the same home as an addict.

Yeah.
The sperm can be all retarded, causing birth defects
Or, if the drugs are smoked (cigarettes, weed, crack), and the mother inhales that shiat, it goes right into the baby's system too.
So yeah, it could really fark a baby up.

YES. Even if it is not his child, her peace of mind could be pivotal on fetal development. Happy mom leads to healthy baby, stressed mom can make the babie's life miserable.
