DON'T ask an accountant! He will charge you many times more than the amount he will save you!

Under UK tax law, you are allowed to earn so much before paying tax. Each tax year (6th April to 5th April is caculated separately).

The simple answer is this - if you have earned less than £5,035 SINCE 6th April 2006, you should have all of your tax refunded. Any amount you have earned in excess of this will be liable to tax.

Up to the first £2,150 is taxed at 10%, and any amount over this up to £33,300 is taxed at 22%.

For the tax year ended 5th April 2006, the principle is the same, but the amounts are slightly different.

The tax-free amount was £4895, the 10% band up to £2,090, and the 22% limit was £32,400.

Contact your local tax office for advice on this - you will probably find them quite helpful.

I hope this helps you!!

Best wishes!

Ask you're employer for you're P45 (and P60 if he has it)
Go online at Inland Revenue (UK) You can claim tax back from there. If you havent worked a full year, you're usually entitled to tax back.

Ask an accountant in England.

1)You provided very little helpful information
2)You are asking random strangers on the Internet
3)You are too stupid to live.
