I married my 3rd cousin 26 years ago and we had a beautiful daughter. We did not grow up knowing each other and met when we were grown and fell in love. Be prepared though for a lot of criticisms and judgments from EVERYONE!! Especially the families!!! The royal bloodlines always did it but here in America you are chastised for it. We even went and talked to a Dr before we decided to marry and he assured us that it would be safe for us to have children. He also he told us that Eleanor Roosevelt and Pres Roosevelt were also 3rd cousins. It is also legal in all states for 3rd cousins to marry. Good luck to you.

You don't say how closely these people are related, but...
The more closely related, the higher the chances they both carry genes for inherited disease that will express itself in their offspring. Some diseases skip a generation, so things that haven't cropped up (or even been known, because the gene's recessive) for one or more generations can come out in the offspring, since the chances are high both parents would carry the gene (a recessive gene doesn't "turn on" unless both parents have it).
Then you have the social issue. How does the family feel about it?

Well, that's kind of a weird situation... but if your going to do it, make sure you are no closer than 4th or 5th cousins. I think that's where the blood line is thin enough where you should have no problems with offspring.

3rd cousins are genetically removed from each other completely. But without children, if a guy can ***** another guy up the asss, then i really don't see anything wrong, philosophically, with ******** any other woman, be they sister or cousin, as long as you are consenting adults. I don't agree with the philosophy, morally, it is irreprehensible, as well as two guys fukking. But hey, i'm not judgin, i'm just sayin. ;)

I watched a thing on t.v. the other day and they said over 20% of people in the world marry their cousins ... !
The US is a little bit more close-minded when it comes to this .. that's all ... !

I just saw a show on tv a week or so ago and they said it is not only legal for first cousins to marry, it does not seem to have any negative effect on the children. They interviewed a few of them with children as well.
Still.... lol kinda seems... well...

I don't know about the rest of the states, but in Ohio, you can't be closer than fifth cousins to marry.

In other countries, first cousins marry and have children all the time! They are fine! Just another lie we're taught here!

I think it's 3rd cousins that begin to have no risk for complications in their children.
