It seems to me living on the east coast that women from the west coast are more open minded to relationships and meeting new poeple. so its time for another survey.
new person guy or girl approaches you on the street or grocer or where ever how open are you to meet and greet this person, and where abouts are you from (all peoples from other countries are more than welcome to answer this question as well).
basis of this question, i've lived on the east coast most of my life, the times i didn't i lived on the west coast. my shrot time on the west coast seemed to be friendlier than my time here. and i've been thinking about moving and i was wondering were would have friendly people. I'm tired of jerks.

ok so this is what i'm talking about. this guy who i didn't call out directly took offense because i meet people on a constant basis who i can only qualify them as jerks. not calling anyone person a jerk but just a general overview. do i have friends and other people overall that i get along with on a daily basis? YES of course i do. but over all i'm just feed up about how hard it is to meet new people.

i have noticed the same thing (i move back and forth every year or so due to my job). but i think its just that people on the east coast are more direct with their actions. wheather its saying what they like or don't like or whatever. but most important, pepople from the east coast don't lead other people on as much, if they like them they are friendly and if they don't like them they don't prerend that they do.

I grew up in SoCal my whole life ... I always thought people were a little rude out here ... but I think it's just the life style ... !
People are always in a hurry ... so am I ... not sure why ... lol ... but I heard NorCal is a little more welcoming ... !
I moved to Colorado and thought it was very very strange how people were sooooo nice ... a little too nice out there .. it drove me crazy ... people in line at the store ... "Hey Dave, How are the cows doing" ... lol ... or how every time I passed a car the other person was waving hello ... got kinda tiring and ridiculous ... and I'm all for nice people being courteous to others .. !
I also lived in Louisiana for a few years ... and let me tell you ... I will never never live in the "dirty south" or even want to visit some of the places over there ever again ... !
The East coast I've only been to NC and hated it ... people seemed ghetto and not real ( they all looked like the people on the rap videos and couldn't relate to any of them ) that or they were stuck up rich white folks ... !

I might be able to help. First off, you are going to encounter jerks no matter where you go, even the middle of nowhere. I was born and raised in the west coast, went to school in the east coast for 4 years and now live in the 'middle of the states'. West coast people in general are more open-minded (Cali) they are democratic states. When you get to the east, you are dealing with the south alot and with the northern people. I've really liked everywhere I've lived, but I will say this, I LOVE THE WEST COAST

I've lived on the "east coast" all of my life, and I also have noticed this, especially with women. The people are friendlier on the surface, but that's as far as it goes. As you said, it seems that they are not really open to meeting new people out side of their little clique. The closest I have come to the "west coast" is Las Vegas, but I was floored at how friendly the people seemed, but It could be because I was just visiting, but the people did seem friendlier.

I live on the West Coast (CA) and have been to the East Coast and it does seem like people are a little more open to meeting new people out here... I don't know if they are more open-minded but it seems West Coast women are a little more up to meeting new people.

Jerks? Let me guess you are gay. It don't matter where you live it's the same for everyone just a change of scenery.
Oh and I have lived from Oregon, California, Kentucky, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Maine, Missouri so I speak from Experience. The biggest difference is the accents ;) and local expressions.
