I am not ashamed to admit that I am a Christian. It isn't something I have to tell people all the time. I try to live my life in a way that will make God happy with me. I hope that the way live shows that I am a Christian. To ridicule someone else means that I am making a judgement, and the only one capable of judging others is God. I will not pass judgement on others for what I know or don't know about them. I will just pray that they are making the right decisions and show them by example.

I have never been ashamed of being a Christian, but until very recently (the past couple of years) it's not something that I would go and tell people about.

I was brought up in a Christian denomination that is quiet and subdued. I used to think that 'Bible-bashers' were freaks, and (I must admit), yes I did ridicule them (including, I must admit, my now spouse).

Then I met some very evangelical Christians, and I realised that I could understand where they were coming from. They don't mean to 'Bible-bash', it's just that they are so enthusiastic and fulfilled by their faith that they want everyone to be able to have the same opportunity.

Through them, I have been able to get over some of my reluctance to talk openly about Christianity, though I can't say that I will ever be one of those people who stands on street corners wanting to tell you about the Good News. Slowly, though, I am trying to let God work through me, and to spead his Message when I can. Please pray for me to continue to grow in Jesus this way!

"Invisible guy interior the sky" is a non sequitur, and not worth of a reaction. Occam's Razor states that between competing hypotheses, the only that makes the fewest assumptions would desire to be chosen. A. The serpent. Gen 3:a million-. B. the girl. Gen 3:-a million. C. Her seed. Gen 3:15 X. The serpent. Rev 12:9 Y. the girl. Rev 12:13. Z. Her seed. Rev 12:17. Logically, a Correlation isn't a Causality or an Equality. although, protecting interior the limitations of Occam's Razor, there is not any different character interior the area of Scripture that the serpent interior the backyard ought to in all risk be without believing in speaking snakes. And the Correlation does seem uncanny. This grow to be devil.

Hey, some of my best friends are religious. No I don't ridicule any of them. My family do claim to believe in God and we might have some lively debates but nobody ridicules anybody. I think most Christians are just quiet people who don't run around trying to preach or convert anyone.
I do wonder about some of these zealot types though. The ones who always seem to have a bible ready to quote to you from and pray for you at the drop of a hat. I try to see their side of things but not to many of them seem willing to see my side of things. Talk about intolerant.

I only ridicule if the individual spews hate against a group based on their interpretation of the bible. Example?

Prejudice against lesbians and gays.

In my humble opinion, not being a Christian, if you do not exhibit or try on a daily basis to achieve the same level of compassion that Jesus did, you are not a Christian. Nowhere in the new testament have I read that Jesus hated homosexuals or professed to wipe them off the map, or call them an "abomination."

Leviticus is quite another issue. It is a chapter in the old testament and should not be cherry-picked into Christian practice. In my humble opinion, it is impossible to straddle the two texts and call yourself a Christian.

no, and no (amount of respect, maybe a different question)...

I'm interested in your motive for the question: were you ever ridiculed for being ashamed of such? Are you ashamed now? or just think all Christians are mean?
