Tap water has chemicals and or deposits in it. The water evaporates and leaves higher concentrations of these in the glass and this changes the flavor of the water.

I think it tastes great, like water would taste if it were on the moon. We have bacteria in our mouth, so the co-mingling of the water bacteria and the bacteria from my mouth make for good fireworks.
Also oxygen hasn't gone through it in awhile, which is good, i get enough of that from just breathing.

The oxygen needs to be fresh! Just fill a new glass and the new oxygen will go into glass with the new water.
