Well of course. Every human being deserves a chance at life--regardless of how beautiful or disformed they are. Just because a person has a disfigured face doesn't make them any less of a person.

Yes of course I would still have the baby. These days there are surgery's that can help with the deformalities.
My brother was born with a severe cleft palate and lip, which left a facial deformality, he had to go through about 10 surgery's, cosmetic and reconstructive, he is 19 now, and lives/has lived a normal life.
People are just afraid of what others think and they may feel "emabarrassed" by having a deformed child, but I never felt that way about my brother, I was always by his side if someone made fun of him because of it.
The only way I would terminate a pregnancy, which would be a hard thing to do, was if I knew the child did not have a chance at living, a disease that would kill him/her at at birth or in the early stages of life, or cause the child to suffer all their life.

Yes would still have the baby - a baby is a gift of life and is precious no matter what. It would be shallow to terminate a pregnancy due to a deformity and if this did cause social problems later on then surely in this day and age with all the medical advances treatment in the form of cosmetic surgery could be given. Every one deserves the chance to live.

When we decided to start trying to get pregnant, my husband and I had a long discussion about this very subject.
There are so many conditions, deformaties, defects and diseases that a child can be born with. We discussed all of the possibilities that we could think of and what we would do if we found that our child had anything "wrong" with it.
We decided that we will love any child God sees fit to send our way, for as long as He allows the child to be with us. It is not for us to decide whether a child should live or die... it is not for us to decided what challenges a child should or should not be born with.
If we could, we would make sure that any child we are blessed with would be born whole and healthy. I'm sure any parent would do the same... but we believe that we have been and (hopefully) will be given the children that we are meant to have and we will not deny that blessing.
Included in our discussion was something that happened to my husband's brother and his wife... they were told that their daughter was going to be born with problems. For the last two months of the pregnancy, they were in a state of depression... the father barely slept and the mother cried constantly.
Their baby was born perfectly healthy and whole. If they had found out early enough and gone ahead and done something to stop the pregnancy, they would have missed out on knowing a wonderful, healthy little girl who is going to be two this winter.
A child born with a disease is still a child... a child born with a deformity is still a child... a child born with challanges is still a child... whatever children we are blessed with we will love and we will have.

I don't think any kind of deformity or mental problem would cause me to end a pregnancy. Facial deformities can be corrected, and even families who can't afford surgery can find foundations to help them pay for their child's needs. No matter what a baby or child looks like, they are still your child, a piece of you physically and emotionally.
Hope you get an A on your paper.

My last daughter was born when the wife was approaching 40. They said that we had a 50/50 shot that she would have downs. But the test was a 90% chance of causing a spontantious abortion/miscarriage. We said no thanks. If she has downs we will just have to love her that much more. I put it in God's hands and we had a healthy beautiful baby. If people are so fickle they want "designer babies" IMHO they are not fit to have any babies.

I don't believe in abortion but if the disease would cause my child to go thru hell , I would make him suffer , i would do an abortion. But if there are no complications just a little disfigure I would have it and love him the same

No, never. Abortion is murder, and there is never an acceptable reason to murder someone! Besides, there have been so many documented cases where the doctors have been wrong about fetal deformities and diseases.

If my unborn child had one of those diseases, I wouldn't have it because it would not only be hard on us as parents, but hard on the child, and make an easy tease for other peers of that child. I wouldn't want to bring a child into the world knowing that that's what would befall it.
