Any other option that epidural? I hate needles and the thought of one in my back constantly is not a nice one. On top of that I don't think they do that in my third world country.

Warm shower with a stool (easier to get out of than a tub), walking and stretching, lots of deep breathing with relaxing thoughts. I went through 23 hours of labor without pain medication by using these techniques. I still ended up having a c-section though, he was too big.

The nurse that taught my childbirth class said some women use the big exercise balls, they lean on them and rock back and forth to ease the contraction pain.

I took a very hot shower and then afterwards realized I was in labor. We went to the hospital and I found the epidural to be the best cure for the pain.

Well during labor the best thing is an epidural. It is a life saver. However when that wears off after the delivery the best thing for pain is ice packs and rest.

Yes, Epidural. But after you give birth don't say your breastfeeding cause they will not give you anything stronger than Tylenol for the pain. And yes, you will be in pain after childbirth, after the epidural.

A doula (doo-la) is almost like a coach during labor... I didn't have one, other than my husband, but my friend did and they really helped her to focus on things other than the pain. She also rubbed lavender oil "down there" during pregnancy to help with stretching and preventing of tearing your vagina during labor. I would also reccomend the epidural if you have a low pain tolerance and bring some relaxing music with you. Worked for me! Good luck!

Both of my kids were born in under 1 hr . With my first who is 7 now , I had a mild pain relief , I felt the pain but it wasn't so bad. With my 2nd who is 5mths , I had no meds because I got there too late and if I had taken anything it would have hurt my baby. With both kids I did alot of walking , that helped the birth process go faster

No, that's carefully distinctive. there is no similarity in any respect. I actual have had 4. The labor soreness is extra like the soreness of protecting your mouth open very huge for an prolonged time. that's a lifeless soreness that comes and is going. that is in no way like the pointy cramps of diarrhea soreness. I used the Bradley approach, which makes use of comprehensive rest to evade uterine cramps. Diarrhea cramps injury worse.

Now adays they have epidurals, my daughter didn't feel a thing. Me I toughed it out, it was bad, but not that bad. If I was having my kids today, I probably would do it the same way.

Three times done with epidural, and I wouldn't do it any other way.

Good luck
