Then he only talks to you on msn once in a while. He always asks how you are, then you ask him and he says likewise-good. It is brief. I say what is up and he tells me hanging out with friends, etc, briefly says "dating" in the list. Then he doesn't say bye and gets offline asap

He does not want you he is just being friendly..there are too many relationships that end up messy and people dont talk....ur ex just seems like a nice guy..he doesnt want u..so understand that not every guy wants you.....bighead.

If he's subtly inserting that "dating" aspect onto the list, he probably wants to make you jealous. If he's trying to flirt in any way, he's just making sure you're still around in case he can't find anything better. OR, he's trying to be friendly because if HE was the one who broke up with YOU, he may just feel bad and wants to be your friend. Each scenario I've listed should be applied with consideration to what kind of guy it was you were dating. If he had jerk tendencies, it's scenario 1 or 2. If he was nice, look at scenario 3. But here's one major piece of advice: FORGET HIM. You're probably spending more energy on him than he is on you. And we don't want that, do we girls.

He still has feelings for you, but they aren't anything big. He just wants to make sure that your still ok and that everything is ok for you. I did the same with my ex. I would talk to her briefly , just to make sure she was ok. She if she had found anyone else or anything. Most of all just to make sure that she was ok.

It doesn't sound like he's still interested, but I would say he is curious about what's going on, if you've found someone else. He probably wouldn't want you back, but I'm sure he would be jealous if you found someone. Some emotions are hard to kick after a relationship.

never burn bridges..it's my motto. you never know when you will have to call upon an ex for something down the road ie business reference or just maybe an expertise he has. if you stay acquaintances then you can utilize his abilities. *shrug* it's bad karma anyway.
