Well said!
Remember in Columbine, the boy asked some girl if she believed in God... she said yes, and he shot her in the face. Why wasn't God there to help her?

God doesn't do things like that.
God made man Finite. It was God's will man die and not live forever.
However Jesus cured a lot of people and said we ALL have the power to do this.
We are, slowly, but surely, learning this. We have learned, for example, CPR.
Take note, the "Wonder drugs" of the past, PEnnicinine, is now more a hazzard than a help.
Where ONCE it cured EVERYTHING, just about, today it kills, today it brings on other diseses that eat the pencillin.
Doesn't matter whether yo call that God or Darwin in action, it means both theories can go against man.

Jim,
I do not know if you can handle the response at this time in your life.
Corruption of the spirit soul and body is a awful thing. We are thankful for the advancement of science and medicine and yet we have not arrived.
I have also wondered at times Why doesn't God do.....
then it came to me that we are in danger of turning God into OUR genie make a wish (prayer) and get immediate gratification.
The Old Testament was a God who directly intervened in Nations and individual lives. In the Gospel we have a God (Jesus) who does the same thing only without great outpourings of wrath. God seemed to be interested in the physical and if you follow Jesus He seems to be more interested in the spiritual.
I can not help but think that the mind of Christ is eternal things not temporal things. Our home is with Him in heaven for ALL eternity our life here is a "drop in a bucket" This would answer they question why God allows His people (missionaries) to be killed on the Field) INSTANT PROMOTION.
Do not judge God by what He does not give you Judge Him by what He wants to give you.

Ask God to help you overcome your difficulties and he will answer. When my mother was suffering my father prayed for God to take her if it was her time to go. She is not suffering now. My grandmother died the day before I was born from cancer. At that time the Dr said cancer would probably be cured in 15 years. I am now 42. God gives us the abilities and we have to put them to use. We create cigarettes and cautic agents, and we create the drugs to battle some forms of cancer and the skills to remove tumors and to perform repairs on the human body. Man goes to war - wrongly. Man act agresively and causes the reaction than escalates to war and death. God gives us the abilities and people do the actions -- right and wrong. God has given you and your child a challenge -- it is not something you made -- it isn't fair but there is a reason for it that is not known at this time. I wish you well.

you misunderstand things here. yes God is all powerful, but for Him to work on the sick, you have to believe that He can and will. if God destroyed all evil before it was time, we would not learn anything. if evil was stripped from the world before anyone learned the difference between good and evil, no one would really learn anything, would they? just because you cant see God, does not mean He is not there. we have to believe in God before we can see His works. God will bring a stop to wars with the final battle of Armageddon. yes God can heal those who were wounded, but only if they believe and ask him. i have nothing but sympathy for what your child went through, but consider this. it is by God's grace that your child did not die. it is by the grace of God that he is able to live now without that tumor. it is by the grace of God that he will now live without knowing how much he could have been made fun of. why do you complain when you should be grateful. if it were not for God, then your son would not have even been born alive. count your blessings while you can and rejoice for them, for you will miss them greatly once they are taken from you.

I don't believe in god in the traditional christian, jewish or islamic sense, but that is not to mean that I am not at all religious. I believe that everything happens in life for a reason. I know that can sound cruel to some, but as my dad used to tell me as a kid, "life isn't fair." The important thing is not to wish for a better world, but to be grateful for the things that we have. There is someone always worse off (well except for the one person out of 6 billion at the bottom. I do feel really bad for that person

I'm sorry to hear about your 3 year old...
In otherwords, you are asking why God doesn't take away all our trials in life if He really exists. That begs the question of why we are on this world living this life. Is God's purpose simply to make this mortal life easy for us? Or is there a deeper purpose to it? Could the trials and hardships that everyone faces to one degree or another, be the purpose for this life? And if it is, then wouldn't God be thwarting the very purpose of his creation by removing all the trials from life?
I believe that the glory of God is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. That can only be achieved as a result of the trials of this life.

Hey man,
I'm sincerely sorry for your 3 year old. It must be tough having a whiny puss for a dad. Anyway, this life is a test, to get all cliche on you. If there were no stumbling blocks, no tribulation, no pain, or sorrow, and God lived with among us visibly, wiping away every tear, and fulfilling every whim, it wouldn't be much of a test would it? There is a place like that, though. I really do hope your kid finds it after this test. I hope you find it too, but you seem to be filled with vitriol. You seem to be failing this test. Hope you find the strength to bear it, and come to God.

God is all powerful.
However, the age we live in is that of our own choice. And it is through our choices and those made before us that has brought suffering onto us and to those after us.
Unfair right? To the eye of the beholder.
God gave us a choice and still does through his word and his will. But again it is our choice to be who are and to believe what we want.
I am not a bible thumper or even religious.
However, I do have faith and that is the key.
Sorry to hear about your three year old. …
just to point out something here in the reply above mine "The boy ask the girl if she believed in god and she said yes, then killed her."
Don’t quote me but it is some along those lines.
The bible speaks of something Similar to this when the end of all things come we will be asked if we believe in god and if we say yes we will be killed for our beliefs if we denounce our beliefs regardless if we do or not in hopes that we will be spared our lives. But it will not be our eternal salvation.

When something bad happens in the world it is not Gods fault, when God created Adam and Eve, He told them not to eat of the tree of Good and Evil, but they did. And since they disobeyed God they sinned and sin entered the world. So that's why bad things happen. But then like 2000 years ago God sent his son Jesus and He lived a perfect life and was crucified for us and since he was perfect He took all our sins with him to the grave. and then rose from the dead 3 days later. all you have to do is ask Him to forgive your sins and accept his as your lord and savior and it doesn't matter what happens in this life, because after you die you will live forever in Heaven, where everything is perfect and there is no cancer or any crap like that! Pretty Awesome Eh!! I hope that helps

God can do anything that your mind tells you that he can. Since God is in the imagination of religious believers, there is nothing that can't be imagined.
You're right, a real God wouldn't permit most of what's going on. If he really is ALMIGHTY, meaning able to do anything.
With all the killing, disease, starvation, and catastrophes going on, if God permits this to go on, who can have any respect for him ? He is either almighty, or he is nothing.
