I want to know why I appear unable to do full side splits. I can stand straight, and lift either leg right out to the side at 90 degrees to the rest of my body - the position each would be in for full side splits. As far as I know, the only part of each leg directly attached to any part of the other is skin, which stretches. So why haven't I managed full side splits?

hey, i did Anatomy & Physiology

basically, just because u can lift each leg 90 degrees to each side of your body doesn't mean you will be able to do the splits, did u know that only 1 in 5 people can actually do the splits? this isnt due to fitenss (although that is a cause) but as you know everyones body is different, and their muscle structure is different, if you desperatly want to be able to do the splits then i suggest training up your inner thigh muscles, yoga is great for this! but it may just be that you dont have the right muscle tone

hope this was of help :-) if you need anymore advice feel free to email me, jackietrew2002@yahoo.co.uk

what i do is take notes and definitions etc. that are important to the section we are working on. then i turn those notes and definitions into notecards, i punch a hole in the note card and hold them together with a binder ring and when ever i have a spare minute i pull them out and study them. so far it has helped me as i havent gotten a test grade lower than an 80%. if you do not want to do that or it doesnt help you, then i suggest talking to your advisor/counselor as most schools have a free tutoring service available to enrolled students. best of luck
