You should pray to god and not any saints. God is the creator, saints are the creation. You ask the creator for help not from the creation.

Prayer is merely communication with those in heaven.
Worship is to give glory and adoration.
St. Anthony of Padua was canonized by the Roman Catholic Church on May 30, 1232. He was recognized as the patron of the restoration of things lost.
Those who pray to St. Anthony are not worshipping him, they are calling on a friend, saying, "Hey, you know, I heard you are good at finding things. I'm worshipping God and know that he'll help me find it, but would you be my friend and worship with me? Where two are gathered in my name, Jesus said, and I would be honored if you were here with me looking."

Saint Anthony is the patron saint of lost items. You pray to ask him to help you find something you misplaced.

If you're not Catholic you won't know about him. He's not in the bible. The story of St. Anthony has been passed down for many generations. Just because something's not in the bible doesn't mean it didn't happen. Hell, there are many sories that ARE in the bible that didn't happen.

you pray to Saint Anthony when you want to find a boyfriend, you put him resting on his head and you tell him that you are not going to put him straight until he finds you a good man, : )
