Nah as they rob us right left and centre, we 'd be a wealthier nation instead of forking out for a golfing trip which costs 250,000 for a private jet and living expenses. I say get rid of royalty and the pope as well but with the rate he's going with his gobby outbursts i reckon someones gonna assasinate him.

Need?
They both reside at the center of their respective organizations, for lack of a better term.
A monarchy is based upon a royal family. This means king or queen at the top suggesting the peasants just eat cake instead. Not suited to the US but it seems to be an acceptable tradition in many places.
The Catholic church is based upon its own royal family of sorts...though based upon promotion from within and eventually election. As far as church organizations go, it seems to be an acceptable method.
So what is the problem you have with these positions? Are you asking from a position of ignorance or perhaps a distaste for authority? Does the existence of these two offend?

The queen is the head of state - the government is HER government. You could change the head of state, but in the English parliamentary system - why bother ?
She's also head of state for Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, Barbados, the Bahamas, Grenada, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, and Saint Kitts and Nevis. Just a little legacy of our empire.
Besides....she looks nice on our stamps.

Firstly the Queen - Yes - Who else is going to appear on our coins, notes and stamps? Elton John?
Second - The Pope - I am not Catholic so I dont know but he is doing his best to make himself a marter for the Catholic cause so I would say no, or at least not this Nazi one anyway.

The British people are the only ones who can answer in regards to their Queen. The pope is the leader of the catholic church and yes, all religions, organizations, etc. etc....etc... have a leader and he is fine where he is.

As for the Queen, you would have to ask the British. Fewer and fewer think so. As for the Pope, yep. No. I am not currently Roman Catholic.
