I have a cairn terrier with quite a good set of teeth. Every dog toy I have purchased for her, she has destroyed - even ones that are marked "indestructable". Any suggestions?

I have the same problem with my Pitt. The only toy that he does not destroy within minutes is called The Hurley. They are guaranteed indestructible, and the company will send you a replacement if your dog does manage to destroy it. I buy mine online from Amazon.com. It's kind of shaped like a bone, and you can throw it and it will bounce, it also floats.
I have tried everything on the market including Kongs. It takes him about 5 minutes to completely destroy those. He had the Hurley for a couple weeks before he managed to tear it up. And they did replace it with no questions asked when I sent it back.

Get this toy called a "kong". They make them in different sizes and they have a hole in the middle where you can stuff treats. It will keep even and agressive chewer busy for hours. I have a bull mastiff and I use squirt cheese to fill the kong with and he will worry it around for hours. He has had it for several months and has not destroyed it, but has destroyed others marked "indestructable". Buy one large enough to where your dog cannot get the whole thing in his mouth but small enough to where he can get a good grip on it.

Have you tried the large rope that has three knots in it? The Large rawhide 'bone' takes a medium canine a week usually to destroy! The terrier is bred to hunt and retrieve "small" fiesty game! So small toys are no match! the bigger the better!

I have the sweetest pitbull in the world, but she destroyed all toys. Kongs were gone in seconds!! Then I found the Gallileo bone. It's about 15-20 dollars and comes in different sizes. She's had it for six months and loves it!!!!!

get your dog a KONG.....it is a red kind of cone shaped thing with a hole in it to put stuff like peanut butter, or water and freeze it. It will give your dog hours of entertainment and they stand up far better than other dog toys. You should get it from a vets office to make sure it isn't a fake!
Good luck!!

I have had success with a couple of things. First of all, the "Kong" type of toys is very resilient and has lasted a long time. They simply cannot chew it to bits. Also, tough "Nylabone" bones will last a long time. Hope this helps.

Give her things she can destroy. Some dogs are just destructive. Give her old leather boots (keep yours put away) You can go to the thrift store to get her something.

I do like the kongs and you can freeze peanut butter in it and keep them entertained for quite a while

Believe it or not I have the same problem with my 6.8 lb. yorkie/chihuahua mix. I now make sure they are made with very thick rubber. She tore up 4 toys last week alone.

nylon bones:

nylon bones are a hard plastic. it's safe. It's not a food or a rawhide chew bone. She plays with it all day. After a while they do need to be replaced. I also get her ropes from the pet store.
