I have had hypo for over two years now. It sounds like you may be taking too high a dose and are now hyPERthroid. It is a balancing act. Call your Dr. and get another blood test. Tell them how you feel. I have found it is hard to get good care for this condition. You should be seeing an endocrinologist, even with them you need to educate yourself and be your own advocate. When I was hypo I gained 10 lbs. in a week, puffy face and eyes, BRAIN FOG, my speech was slowed and slurred, trouble lifting my arms, weak, tired, moody. The list goes on. Once they finally found the right dose, which usually takes a while for most people, I felt much better. You should be getting checked every 6 weeks until they find the right dose. They you will go on maintenance which means period checks. Unless you are not feeling well. Chest pains are never to be taken lightly. Good luck.

Your medication dose may be too high. Also, make sure you still need to be on it. I had a hypothyroid and took medication for it then my thyroid returned to normal levels and I no longer take the medication.

Yes I have it. I am 19 years old, and was diagnosed with it when I was in 4th grade. I was extremely tired all the time, and gained a lot of weight. However, I have never had any concentration, hearing, or memory problems. I am now a runner, so I lost all my weight, and I take Synthroid .075 mg. The amount of doasge depends on your situation.

I think another trip to the doctor is in order. Hypothyroidism doesn't cause chest pain, hearing problems and concentration problems.

i started to take eutirox (same as syntroid) 50 mcg a day.
then the dr changed my dose to 50 mcg from mon to fri and 75 on saturda and sun.
now i´m taking 50 mcg from mon to wed and 75 the rest of the week.
it takes time to find the right dose..u need to check urself at least 3 times a year. and is very important that u have ur right dose before u get pregnant.

My mom was just diagnosed with it and she has gained some weight. She is always tired and is having memory problems but that is all. Sounds like you may be having some of these problems do to other illnesses. Have you had it checked out?

They probably need to do another thyroid profile on you with lab tests and see if you are getting your therapeutic level of thyroid medication....you probably are not....I'm on Synthroid or generics thereof 0.125 mcg. po x 1/day....I've been stable on that dose for quite some time now....once they get you stabilized, they need to do a thyroid profile every 3 months to adequately monitor you. Best of luck to you, hon.♥
