Islam views Jesus as a prophet, just not the last one. Insulting Jesus is no better than insulting Moses or any number of other religious figures!

Muslims are taught from an early age to respect all religions. Jesus is considered to be a prophet from God, just like Mohamed. There's a whole "sura" or part of the Koran titled "Mariam" and is mostly devoted to honouring the Virgin Mary and the miraculous birth of Jesus.
In any case, is it extremely frowned upon to insult other people's religions, beliefs or ethnicities in the the media in the Arab world. Most people abide by this, Muslims and Christians alike.

Mocking, insulting or making fun of any prophet including Muhammad (sm), Jesus (pbuh), Moses (pbuh), Abraham (pbuh), David (pbuh) is considered a serious major sin, which throws a Muslim beyond the pale of Islam. We deeply respect them as God's prophets and messengers by whom we got to know about God.
Someone above said it is a big insult saying Jesus is not son of god. Why would we say so when Jesus never said so?? Bible may say so because Bible has been distorted. Having a son like human is highly insulting matter for God.

Becauze we -muslims- dont insult God's prophets. If a muslim insults Jesus or any other prophet then hes not a muslim any more. prophet Muhammed (pbuh) orderd us to respect all other prophets and all other religions.
Quraan 3:84
"Say: we believe in Allah, and in what Has been revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Isnail, Isacc, Jacob, and the Tribes and in Given Moses, JESUS and the prophets from Lord. we make no distinction between one and another among them, and to Allah do we bow our will (in Islam).
Quraan (saurah Maryam): 19: 30, 31,32,33,34,35
"He said (the Jesus):Iam indeed a servant of Allah: He hath given me revelation and made me a prophet, and He hath made me blessed wheresoever i be, and hath enjoined on me prayer and charity as long as i live, He hath made me kind to my mother and not overbearing or miserable, So peace is on me the day i was born, the day that i die and the die that i shall be raised up to life again. Such was Jesus the son of Marry (it is) the statement of truth about which they vainly dispute. It is not befitting to (the majesty) of Allah that he should beget a son. Glory be to Him! when He determines a matter, He only says to it "Be" and it is"
one of the answers you've got "Jesus is a slave for Allah".. well what is the insult in this?? we are all slaves for God (Allah), and prophet Muhammed (pbuh) and all other prophets including Jesus(pbuh) are slaves of Allah

The Everlasting Father
The Lamb of God

The Truth
The Life
Mighty God

I'm sure Muslims regard Jesus with the same incredulousness that Christians regard Muhammed.
As for the jokes, I don't know what the heck you're getting at. North America makes fun of everyone and everything, and other places in the world place an imposition on free speech. This probably is the cause for whatever dichotomy you're trying to make.

Muslims adore all of the prophets. It is blasphemy to mock any prophet such as Adam, Moses, Jesus, Noah, Muhammad, Issac and others. It is a part of their faith to believe and sanctify them.
