Cereal that is dry before you add the milk. Wet breakfast cereals would be oatmeal, zoom and other cereals that have to be prepared. Any cereal in a box premade to just add milk is considered a dry breakfast cereal.

Dry breakfast cereal describes the type of cereal that is not covered in milk or needs water added, i.e. Raisin Bran sans the milk is dry cereal. Kashi is dry cereal. Oatmeal, because of its consistency, would not be considered dry cereal.

any boxed cereal is considered "Dry Breakfast Cereal." So Fruit Loops, Lucky Charms, etc. The term is used to deliniate from Oatmeal and Cream of Wheat and those types of things which, technically, are classified as breakfat cereal ... just hot cereals.

It's cereal that you don't put milk on. Cheerios can be dry without milk.
