My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.
On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.
The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!
Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.
Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.
Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!

Runner's World Magazine (my favorite) states that 100 calories are burnt every mile.
Using that equation, you'd need to run 525 miles monthly in order to lose 15 lbs. That works out to 17-18 miles every day.
This is more than a half marathon distance and if you're not already in shape and eating well, it's unlikely -- but not impossible - that anyone would make it past the first week...even if "just" walking.
Ultra-athletes like Dean Karnazes can run 50 marathons in 50 days, but mere mortals like you and I would have a tougher time walking even 5 miles a day for 50 days!
If it's really something that you want to work up to then go for it! Make sure you have double-lined socks and good shoes (to avoid blisters). Grab a water bottle then...
Ready! Set! GO!

That completely depends upon your present weight now. If you are already heavier, you will burn more calories when you walk. It also has a lot to do with your walking intensity-if you walk faster, you will burn more calories. Finally, it has a lot to do with what you eat-total, you need to create a deficit of 3500 calories to lose one pound of fat. That said, visit the site below to find out how many calories you burn at your weight when you walk for an hour. From there, determine if you want to create the 52,500 calorie deficit completely through exercise or through diet and exercise. If execise only, use the calculation of calores per hour, divide 52,500 by that and you have the total number of hours you will need to walk to lose 15 pounds. Divide that number by the number of miles you can walk in an hour and you have how many miles you need to walk in the month's time. Divide that across 30 days and you have the total number of miles you need to walk per day

But I would walk 500 miles (to lose 15 lbs)
And I would walk 500 more (to lose 15 lbs)
Just to be the man who walked 1,000 miles (to lose 15 lbs)
To fall down at your do-o-or and lose 15 lbs

Exercise is great and will help you lose weigh faster but if you really want to lose weight you need to watch your calories. When you exercise you can have more calories per day but if you eat too many you could still gain weight or not lose as much as you'd like. Use this tool to figure out what you should have per day and then stick to it. If you eat foods that are high in protein and vitamins you won't be as hungry while cutting back.

3 miles a day, a good walk, not being outa breath, start out 1 mile, then build up, it will help, maybe not exactly 15 pounds in one month, but I would guess you didn't gain that much in a month either, wish you luck, oh don't eat anything, 3 hours before going to bed

There is no standard answer for everybody. Everybody has a different metabolism. And exercise is not the only factor. What you eat (or more importantly, what you DON'T eat) is also a significant factor. I suggest you consult a trainer and nutritionist to devise a plan that is best for you, AND be willing to tweak it periodically if you don't meet your goals. 15 pounds a month is quite a bit.

expecting to lose 15 lbs in a month is a little overly ambitious unless you're like 200+ lbs.
