When the Baby on Board stickers appeared in car windows, it was meant for other drivers to slow down and not tailgate. Babies are precious cargo. No need to use "road rage" near those cars.

You're right, everyone deserves common courtesy, but I don't see a lot of it when I'm on the highway.

It's not really stupid. It's just a reminder to SLOW DOWN.

Because Emergency services will always treat babies and children first where possible. So, if a car is involved in an accident that is displaying one of these stickers, all the better. Imagine if a car was so badly smashed, you couldnt see a child in the back?????????
However, far too many people keep them in their cars when they are commuting to and from work - hence no baby or child in site! These stickers are not a waste of time providing they are used correctly!

It's supposed to let accident/emergency services know there's a possibility of a child accident victim that may not have been discovered at an accident scene. Bit of a pisser tho if you happened to leave the child with grandma and you die while everyone's searching for the littl'un before they'll take you o hospital! Also. people like to boast they're fertile and can drop a sprog willy-nilly, and last but not least, people with these stickers in car windows actually cause accidents as i get as close to their car as i can to read a sticker that tells me i'm too close!!

Everyone does deserve common courtesy... but you don't always get it. Like the wanker I had following me today, so far up the back of my motor he might as well of been in my ******* boot. Now them shenanigans don't bother me... I just drive slower, except the arsehole nearly rear ended me when I'd indicated to go round a corner coz he was most likely on his mobile phone and not paying attention.

I aint cornering at breakneck speed for no chuffer, I take my time because my two year olds neck is more important than an idiot that's only just passed his test and trying to impress his chav mates.

In short that's why I've got one in the back window... for what it's worth.

You are right, all drivers deserve courtesy. This is what brings safety to the roads we drive on. I recently witnessed a fatal accident on a freeway. They had a Medivac Helicopter on scene and it was bone chilling to watch and realise it could be you.
Most parents with these sticker present are taking a little extra time to safeguard there most precious things their children. As you have noticed while driving, there are allot of speeders out there and they take chances with the lives of the other motorist's and their passengers.
The bumperstickers are put in window's as a cautionary sign to other motorist's that they do have a child in the vehicle. The statistics on child deaths on our roads is 1 too many!
I hope that motorist's are not upset to see these signs as they help to reduce infant death's in automobile accident's.
.
Good Luck Motoring

Everyone does deserve common courtesy but not everyone gets it, do they? So, I assume that the parents or whoever are just asking for a bit of special care.
The one that confuses me is when they have 'Twins on Board' - does it make a difference to ask for the courtesy for one child or two?
Maybe sometimes they are just showing off!

People drive stupid and carefree. They drive like their the only one on the road. Parents don't want their babies hurt. So they feel the need to announce their on board hoping the the stupid drives will a least be careful so as not to cause any harm to their child. When you have a baby someday you will understand. But you right that all people deserve respect on the highway. It's just not happening though.

Some time ago there was a car accident. Police recovered all the bodies [ they thought.] Days later revisiting the scene they discovered a babys body that had been thrown clear of the wreckage and was lying in undergrowth.
T.V. Programme "Thats Life" suggested a sticker on rear windscreen to advise rescue services.

Actually the paramedics have to search for 20 minutes for a baby if there is a child seat in a car (even if there was never any baby on board that day) incase thay have been thrown from it.. putting a baby on board sticker tells them that yes there was a baby on board today. You are meant to take them out if there is not a baby in the car though. The paramedics think they are great as they keep them informed as to who was travelling in a car that day

I don't have one but I know I should.. because there are drivers who will flash their headlights at you with full beam from two centimetres up your bumper - even if you set off early in the morning and there is not much traffic - others just block your right turn into your road and whether I've got that sticker on the back or not the road is full of inconsiderate *****
