Hi. I want to install a DISH network receiver with 2 tuners having the second going to a different tv. However I only have access to a 1 coax cable, 1 cat 5, 1 fiber optic between the two tv's. The receiver requires an RCA cable from the receiver to the second tv. Is there a way that I can covert the RCA signal output from the receiver to a coax, cat 5 or fiber optic? I know there must be something out there, I just dont know what it is. Please help!

There are different ways you can go about this, but the main thing is having a RF modulator.

The free route would be to use an RF Modulator-that most people have but don't know about - their old VCR - if you still have one.

You can use the video inputs in your VCR, connect it to the TV using the Coax. Then switch the input mode to video instead of TV (or whatever input names your VCR has). Since you're using a coax, your TV will need to be on channel 3 or 4 depending on your set up.

This is the cheap and bulky method. If you want something that doesn't take much space, you can get a compact RF modulator for half the price of the one in Radioshack here:

http://topsatellitedeals.com/go/fta - it's in the RF Modulators subcatagory under A/V Accessories.

The site also has A/V video senders if you want to use wireless. However, you'll still need an RF modulator if the sender doesn't have a coax output . Important Note: If you're using a wireless internet network -avoid the 2.4 ghz models because you'll be getting interference.

Yes there is an RCA to Coax adapter. Check your local Radio Shack. That's where I got mine...

Yes -- I'd probably just run another coax line.

But, is there a crappy programming to good programming adapter? Radio shack tells me no, but cable and satellite keep advertising that one is in the works...I doubt.
