If you think it is, are just completely ignoring the numbers? How do you explain that EVERY SINGLE TERRORIST ACT in recent history has been commited not while the terrorist chant the lord's prayer, but "allah ackbar."
I say NOTHING "ackbar" about Islam.

Man,...the one that said nazi's were christians, wow, I can not even find the words to express how profoundly ignorant that is. If you had any understanding of Christianity, or Nazism you would kill youself from the shame of such a statement. Christians were almost as oppreseed by the nazi's as the jews. The nazi's outlawed christianity in favor of a much older nordic mythology. You are a moron.

It is not. And you're right, you don't see Christians saying "Behead those who insult Christianity." But you do see "Behead those who insult Islam" when you look at the Muslims protesting.

Maybe modern history, but let's take a look at the past, shall we? How many millions of people were murdered by explorers from Europe who came to the New World? Keep in mind that these expeditions were ALWAYS accompanied by priests. They were the only ones who could read and write, and many monarchs claimed that their motives were altruistic--that they wanted to bring these godless savages to Christ (the gold was just a side benefit). These actions continued (to a lesser degree) up through the 19th century (read the history of the British empire). If systematically destroying entire civilizations in the name of converting them isn't terrorism, I don't know what is.
Also, Muslim extremists are not the only terrorists around....take a look at the modern history of Ireland (Catholics and Protestants happily blowing each other up for decades). As I recall, the Basques of Spain and the Japanese have also had some terrorist activity in the past decade or two.

Unfortunately, Christianity did have a period which wasn't much better than what Islam is going through at the moment. The BIG difference is, we OUT GREW IT! The terrorists who are using Islam as an excuse to obtain their own ends are just as upsetting to my Muslim friends as they are to me. But, as I have stated repeatedly, it is up the the Muslims to bring a stop to the terrorism. If they are serious about wanting peace, then THEY need to do what is needed. Since the terrorist ARE NOT afraid to kill other Muslims who don't agree with them, maybe the shoe needs to be placed on the other foot.

Nothing comes to mind that makes me believe that Christianity today is as violent as Islam. Christianity had a history of being intolerant towards Jews and during the Reformation period both sides were killing each other (Roman Catholic vs Protestant). Extreme adherents of Islam seem to use violence as the answer to anytime someone offends them, especially in speaking of their Prophet.

No Christianity is not violent.

People are violent.

Some do it in the name of their religion, some do it in the Name of Jesus. Some people take the Holy Bible and twist and pervert it. They will be judged by the living God and His Son Jesus!

No where in the Holy Bible does it tell us to be terrorists, kill people because they don't believe the same thing as us or be mean and hateful.

What it does tell us is to love the Lord Our God with everything that we are and to love one another (second).

Hitler, the Crusades (slaughtering the Jews) (fighting for Jerusalem ((it didn't belong to the Christians or the Muslims; it belongs to the Jews, Period!)) and Inquisition were wrong. They were also NOT following the Holy Bible when they decided to do it. Again, they perverted the Bible. They have already been judged for their part in History.

You will know a tree by it's fruit. Gal. 5

Grace to all and God Bless

The only time Christianity itself was violent was when the stupid @$$ government got their hands in it, and by then it wasn't true christianity. In the old testament God chose his followers, but since Jesus everything has been paid for us. Now we only have to choose him. True christianity promotes acceptance of everyone, even if we don't agree w/ their religion. Islam teaches that if an "infedel" doesn't convert than kill them. At least that's my understanding of it.

Every religion, regardless of good intentions, has had some violence in the past. It is ridiculous and wrong that SOME Muslims choose to inact a holy war in the name of Allah to justify their own horrible acts. Islam does NOT teach violence it is a passive religion. SOME people have chosen to interperted Islam to mean what they want it to mean. This had made it so much harder for Muslims and followers of Islam everywhere.

We must be as tolerant as possible to people who have been told that Jesus Christ is not the God of heaven.

They have a lack in understanding the divinity of the Lord (that the Lord is part of God) and we must understand and be kind.

God has the situation in hand. We must look to the evil affections inside us first before looking at someone else's evil affections.

You answered your own question. The crusades were conducted by Catholics, not necessarily Christians. Christians don't believe in forcing religion on someone, its impossible to force a person to become a Christian. Its a choice and you must be sincere.e

The old testament is not Christianity - it occurs before Christ lived on earth.

Comparing Christianity with Islam can be done by looking at today's paper.
