That isn't uncommon at all.

There are a couple of reasons why this might happen. 1: If your body expends more calories than you consume, it triggers hunger, hence the craving for sweets/carbs.

Another cause might be abnormal blood sugar levels caused by the lack of insulin in your body. This would result from diabetes. If you're worried, check with your physician. I'm sure you're fine though... it's just one of those things.

Solution if you want to lose weight: Eat a good breakfast, resist the temptaion, and if you can't resist, get the sugar from fruit instead of chocolate.

I've also heard that mixing a couple tablespoons of nutritional yeast (no, not brewers yeast) in a glass of juice or water before meals to raise blood sugar so that you won't have any cravings nor eat as much.

I do, too. I think it is probably just a habit of ours from eating dessert. I find if I suck on a hard candy after I eat, it helps me not to eat something really fattening.
