Good question. It calls for some reflection as to what it is some really believe, and it's not an easy answer.

Those are not true bible beliveing Christians anybody can claim a title but it doesen't make it true. Just because it's mentioned does not mean it is advocated. Violence etc is to be avoided, and only used in self defense, God sometimes uses men to bring Godly Judjment on peoples but only on His expressed order can this be done. No man can make a decision on their own to do violence to aanother except to protect life. You may have read the Bible but your contexts are a little off.

GOD never intended for HIS people to be judge , jury and executioner . As a matter of fact HE gave MOISES
"THE10 COMMENDMENTS" for HIS people to follow as a guideline to gain entry to HIS KINGDOM andgain ETERNAL LIFE.
Lather JESUS use those commendments to teach the appostles
in "THE SERMONT ON THE MONT". So it is not Christianity who is violent but those who think they understand GOD .

I'm a non-christian, and have been to evilbible.com, and while it is informative, it takes a lot of the things in the bible out of context and such. You want real christian violence? Research the crusades.

Claiming Christianity as a belief is easy...living a Christian life is not. If their hearts were truly inclined toward Christianity, they would be aware of the commands in the Bible to love their enemies, to turn the other cheek, to return evil for evil to no one, etc., etc., etc.
Unfortunately, most "Christian" religions are led by those who are more interested in prominence among society instead of realizing that to be a Christian taking the lead among a congregation requires extreme humility because the position is actually that of a SERVANT to the flock. Consider that Jesus, who is second in the universe ONLY to God himself, washed the feet of his desciples to demonstrate the humbleness of the position they were to hold among the people.
Regarding your having read the Bible from cover to cover, congratulations! That's a lot of reading! :) You should note that the violence in the Bible occuring in the Hebrew Scriptures was necessary to keep those who were violently opposed to God's will from wiping out those who would comprise Jesus' lineage. God's justice may not be completely understood from a human standpoint, but since God's cardinal attributes are love, justice, wisdom and power, you can rest assured that those who received his anger received it justifiably. God never acts without warning and without providing a way out. Consider Nineveh. Jonah was commissioned by God to go to Nineveh and tell them that they were to receive judgment by God, but they were truly repentant (the king himself repented in sackcloth and ashes) and changed their course and God held back from destroying them. Jonah was upset by their not having received adverse judgment by God, but note what God said to him: : “For my part, ought I not to feel sorry for Nineveh the great city, in which there exist more than one hundred and twenty thousand men who do not at all know the difference between their right hand and their left, besides many domestic animals?” (Jon 4:9-11) God showed mercy because of their repentance. If he showed mercy to the Assyrian city of Ninevah who was known for its bloodshed and extreme brutality in war, and whose principal deity was not God, but Ishtar (goddess of love and war), doesn't this demonstrate that he was not unjust in destroying those who would not repent?
As for the Greek Scriptures, it should be noted that violence was TOWARD the Christians, not by them.
