If its not fleas, it could be the mange. There is certain mange that starts at the ears, mange will cause the cat to itch and lose the fur, it looks scaly and irritated, mange is contagious to humans as well. You will need to take your cat to the vet and they will either give her a shot of supply you with a save that will cure the mange. If not mange, it could be a skin condition, shampoo her with an oatmeal shampoo for dry skin. So if you have ruled out fleas and dry skin, defiantly get her to a vet. Good luck!

I just read in an online posting where an owner was trying to sell their mix siamese kittens and said they noticed the kitties going bald around their ears and what not so they started treating for ring worm and now they're doing a lot better. Basically they were explaining why the kittens look kind of strange at the moment because they're in the process of being treated, but are still up for adoption.

It could be she is allergic to fleas. Mine has this same problem and would scratch and had thinned fur around his face. Try calling the vet and getting some flea medication that will keep them off her altogether. I did that and my kitty was fine. I would definately keep her inside and watch your other animals if you have any for fleas. The flea baths are great, but she could be allergic to that as well.

My kitty did this same thing. When I took her to the vet they told me she had a flea allergy. Cats are sometimes allergic to the saliva of the fleas. One flea can send them into a frenzie! The flea baths and collars do not work! Trust me because I tried them all! Advantage is the best stuff out there and you can usually find it online for pretty cheap! Flea baths can actually poison your cat if your are not careful! Go for Advantage!

It sounds as if there is illness called alapichia and or there are others. Get your cat to a doctor quickly.
