Both, according to their their own ideologies.
The Zionists claim that the are the chosen people and that God gave them Canaan then King David crossed the Jordan and set Judea up in the land of the philistines.
There the Jews and non-Jews lived together under a Jewish King.
The Jewish diaspora occurred when the Romans made Judaism an illegal terrorist organisation and pulled the temple down.
The Palestinians remained.
Zionism as an movement of Jews back to the region started to occur when the Frenchman Rothschild financed projects and bought land for settlement in the Ottoman empire region of trans Jordan.
After the Balfour letter Jewish organisations agitated for a Jewish "Home Land". After the Holocaust the Jewish cause was given precedence over the right of those living there.
So both are right, both are wrong.
The Palestinians were there first and have always been there, the Jewish people invaded, settled got kick out had mass murder perpetrated on them (but not by Muslims or Arabs so why should Arabs give up their land for a bunch of Europeans).
The western powers felt they owed the Jewish people a blood debt, and repaid it with Arab land.
