If they are raw, cover them with water (with a little salt in it) and boil them until they're tender. If they are canned, they've already been cooked, so you just need to heat them gently. Add butter, salt & pepper, a little sugar and cinnamon. Delicious.

open can, drain put in oven safe casserole dish, chop up the big pieces into bite size pieces. sprinkle cinnamon, sugar (evenly over the yams), put in choppped pinapples and or pecans if you like; drizzle a whole stick of melted butter over the yams, top with marshmellows and bake till the marshmellows are toasted.

if not into candied yams, then microwave on med high for about 3 min with some butter. ENJOY!

I am assuming that since they are already diced that they are canned.
if so, Pop them in a microwave for about 1 1/2 min
you can add any or any combination of the following
cinnamon, alspice, pepper, salt, nutmeg, butter, sugar

you can also bake them,
put them in an oven safe dish and cover with marshmallows
bake for 20 min.

or squish them up and mix in milk, egg, nugmeg butter, sugar and bake in a pie crust

ummmm yammms

Zsoka...That recipe sounds reallly good, i am going to try it myself

I like to either cook them in a fry pan with a bit of real butter till tender or you can bake them in a bit of butter with brown sugar over them. That's techically 'Candied Yams'.
